Dominic Dutra To Co-Present at CASBO Conference

On April 12, 2012, DCG’s Dominic Dutra will be a co-presenter at the 2012 Annual Conference & California School Business Expo held by California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) in San Diego, CA.

CASBO, a nonprofit statewide professional association, is dedicated to promoting excellence and professionalism in all aspects of school business. Dominic will be presenting alongside attorney Philip J. Henderson, Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) Director of Facilities and Construction, Kim VanGundy, and former Chief Business Official for Cupertino Union School District, Jerry Matranga. The topic is “Selling District Real Property: Finding Flexibility Within The Restrictions”. The conference description is:

Now, more than ever, school districts are looking for money. Some districts are seriously looking at their real property assets to find out if they have surplus land to sell. There are restrictions, but there are also many possibilities. This workshop will walk through the legal steps to surplus, real property, and will explore other income-generating alternatives. Also explained will be recent changes in the law that allow school districts to use money from the sale of a surplus site for one-time, ongoing expenses of the district.
